You got questions?

We have answers.

Do hubs work on desktop / tablet / mobile?

Yes, because MyMeedia is a responsive web-based application built with HMTL5, CSS and JavaScript. Your hub looks stunning on all devices that are connected to the internet and have up-to-date versions of Google Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Internet Explorer.

What is Backstage?

The Backstage is the place where you set-up your content feeds, manage, organise what comes in, and build up your smart sets. Similar to a physical backstage, only a selected few have access to it. This is why the Backstage is password protected and private to your eyes only.

What are Stream and Highlights?

All hubs have two default public smart sets: Stream and Highlights. On Highlights we expect that you will show only selected entries, whereas your Stream shows a broader selection at once.

How do I use the email feed?

We set-up a dedicated email inbox that receives all the content you send to it and puts it automatically on your hub. Works great for group sharing in the context of an event or for a brand too. All you have to do is send an email with your message in the subject line and, optionally, the content as an attachment. Yes, it is really that easy.

How can I embed a smart set on my website or blog?

All smart sets can be embedded on websites and blogs. We give you an HTML snippet that you just copy / paste where you want the smart set to be embedded. It is that simple.

If you need more customised embeds you can also write your own CSS, or even let your developers tap our API for seamless integration with your website.

How do I curate?

You can curate your content and delete items that do not fit your message, whether it is because the content is just not right for you or it is spam. In this way, you avoid social noise that is unrelated to you. Furthermore, you curate content by inserting additional tags to bring it in context with what you want to say.

What features does the free plan have?

With the free plan you can upload up to 1 GB of your own files, aggregate 2 feeds (social or web) and publish content in 2 smart sets (the two default ones: Stream and Highlights). Feeds are updated every 12 hours.

Do I have to sign a long term contract?

No, MyMeedia is a month-to-month service. There are no long term contracts or commitments on your part. Of course if you fell in love with MyMeedia you can always opt for the yearly plan and get 10% off. We'll send you an invoice for your yearly subscription too.

What are smart sets?

Smart sets are public or private groups of posts that belong together. They can have either the form or a collection, or a story. Collections are best for representing a topic of interest. In stories you can arrange the order of posts to convey a narrative. Sets are smart because we index their content and extract insights on who said what, tags used, channels and type of posts. When you create a smart set you can give it any name and description you wish.

How do I build up a smart set?

On your Backstage you can add smart sets and assign items to one or more of them. The Backstage includes powerful and advanced search and filtering tools so that you can easily find posts based on who posted them, what was posted, the tags used or post type (for example photo, video). You decide what goes on each smart set with just one click.

Which web feeds can I put on my hub?

Your hub can also aggregate RSS and ATOM feeds that you find relevant, for example from your favourite blogs and news websites.

Which social feeds can I put on my hub?

You can add to your hub social feeds from Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Flickr, YouTube, Vimeo and FollowThePlace. So for instance, you can aggregate posts of a #hashtag from Twitter plus your personal Instagram photos and a selection of your YouTube videos. If you need feeds from other social networks, we don't support currently, talk to us and we'll work it out.

Which files can I show on my hub?

You can upload photos, documents, audio and video files. Automatically, we make every file web-friendly, create a thumbnail view (even for audio files, just try one) and integrate it on your hub. You can additionally caption and tag your files to put them in context and make them easy to find.

Do you have a free trial too?

No, we have a Free plan! You can use this as long as you want and for an unlimited number of posts with full search capabilities.

Will the embed look nice on my website?

Yes! Embeds are designed using the latest web development techniques and are responsive too, thus they fit auto-magically to the container width you put them.

You can also write your own CSS (or let us write it for you) to make embeds look like the rest of your website. And you can also tap our API and develop a custom integration. We can help you there, if you want.
